Fantasy is a doorway back to our sense of wonder

Fantasy was the genre that turned me into a reader and narrating these stories feels a bit like coming home. It's a return to the part of myself that believed anything was possible. The girl who sat in her closet hoping a portal to another world would open. Who thought she could manipulate water with her mind.

A genre that is often described as an escape, Fantasy has the power to transport us away from the world we know offering an immersive reprieve from the stress of our daily lives. But I think, more than an escape, Fantasy is a doorway back to our sense of wonder.

Tapping into our imagination can unlock new pathways of thinking that fosters creative problem solving and reconnects us with our sense of wonder. Wonder drives curiosity which leads to discoveries. We are living through an age of cognitive atrophy and dwindling critical thinking skills due to invasive technology that many of us are actively seeking to escape. I can't think of a better way to reclaim our future than to reconnect with that wonder that came so naturally to us when we were kids.

There are so many incredible fantasy stories out there but here are a few recent releases that I've narrated:

Daughter of The Earth Series , by K.M. Gordon narrated by Annalee Scott and Casey Jones

Scars Beneath a Serpent's Scales, by Nicole Platania narrated by Annalee Scott and Xander Stone

Falling Into Shadow, by Mike Palleschi narrated by Annalee Scott

(sci-fi / fantasy)

Essence of Ruin Series, by Alec Lownes narrated by Annalee Scott
